1.The First and Second estates were wealthy nobles and government. The Third estate was the middle class and poor people. The first and second estates don't care about the middle class and they also tax them while they barely have money.
2.Because the First and Second estates are rich and they have power over the lower class,they have the power to make changes in whatever they want to do.

Today rich people have maybe a little more power than th middle class & the poor class .the poor people sometimes they don't even know if they are gong to eat or find a place to sleep ,you can see the diferences between poor & rich people.
